Add just onion and nothing more until beans is soft. Then, you can add palm oil and cover to boil. Add half of the onions and enough water to cover it well. Add salt to beans and mash the beans in the strainer set on top of a bowl.

Steps to make Beans and potato porrage:
  1. Wash and blend all the ingredients together and set aside,peel and cut the potato into pieces wash and drain it
  2. Remove stone sticks from the beans and wash it with clean water then put into a pot add enough water and cook until soft remove from the pot and drain it,set aside
  3. In another pot add the Palm oil and set on fire when hot add the blended ingredients and stir and leave it for about 5mins then add the seasonings maggi curry salt and ruwan nama,add enough water add the potato and the cooked beans and stir,cover the pot and leave until done then remove from the fire and serve
