Matar ka nimona is a popular recipe that is prepared in most households in Uttar Pradesh. Every year during winters I prepare various recipes with matar and this matar ka nimona is one of them. Yes now we are in hot summers and I am sharing this recipe which has been in the drafts for too long. A dish widely prepared in Uttar Pradesh, this traditional UP Style Matar Ka Nimona is made using peas and just a few spices.

To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can have matar nimona using 14 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Matar nimona:
- Take 1 cup Green peas
- Get 3 tomatoes
- Get 1 inch ginger
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Hing (asafoetida)
- Make ready 1/4 tsp jeera(cumin seeds)
- Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Make ready 2 tsp coriander powder
- Make ready 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Prepare 2 tsp crush urad dal vadi
- Make ready 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
- Take 1 green chilli
- Get to taste Salt
- Take 2 tsp ghee
Matar ka Nimona, a UP style Indian curry made with fresh green peas, potatoes and very minimal spices. Tasty soupy curry, this is perfect to pair with rice or chapati/paratha. If you do not get fresh peas, you can use frozen ones. Matar Nimona is a winter side dish which is specially prepared in Uttar Pradesh region.
Instructions to make Matar nimona:
- Grind matar
- Grind tomato with ginger and green chilli
- Add 1&1/2 spoon of ghee in cooker fry vadi,crackle heeng and jeera
- Add red chilli powder pour 1/4cup of water add turmeric & coriander powder stir until ghee leave the corner
- Add tomatoes cook 2mnts in simmer flame
- Add grind matar cook 1mnts add salt garam masala
- Add 1&1/2glass Water give them 2pressure & gas turn slow flame for 10 mnts
- Before serving heat 1/2tsp of ghee crackle jeera & chopped garlic &pour on nimona &serve with rice..
