Oil Cumin Seeds (Jeera) Turmeric Powder (Haldi) Chopped Ginger (Adrak) Coriander (Dhaniya) Green Chillies (Hara Mirch) Asafoetida (Hing) Fenugreek Leaves. Cauliflower sabzi is the most common vegetable dish found in everyday cooking and this phool gobi sabzi/sabji is made with simple spices and quick in making. This Indian dish is a medley of veggies inspired by the streets of Mumbai. Delicious and nutritious cauliflower recipe which taste so yummy with roti or rice.
To begin with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook cauliflower sabzi (satvik) using 12 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook that.
The ingredients needed to make Cauliflower sabzi (Satvik):
- Get 250 gm cauliflower
- Prepare 1 Tomato
- Get 2 tbsp oil
- Prepare 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- Make ready 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- Get 1 tsp turmeric
- Get 1 pinch asafoetida
- Get as per your taste Salt as per taste
- Get 1 tbsp red chili powder
- Make ready 2-3 tbsp garam masala
- Prepare 4-5 curry leaves
- Get 4 tbsp coriander leaves
As per the sabzi name, main ingredients are cauliflower and green bell pepper. So basically gobi=cauliflower and shimla mirch=bell pepper or capsicum. Onion-tomato is also added to the dish. Kaddu Simla Mirch Sabzi is a simple sabzi where Pumpkin and Capsicum are simmered in a simple masala along with jaggery giving it a sweet and spicy taste.
Steps to make Cauliflower sabzi (Satvik):
- Cut the cauliflower finely and chop tomatoes roughly. Chop the coriander leaves.
- In kadhai, add oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Add turmeric and asafoetida. Add curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves and sauté for a minute. Add tomato and sauté.
- Add cauliflower and sauté. Add little water and cook with lid for 15-20 minutes. Add other masaala and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes and satvik sabji is ready.
Onion-tomato is also added to the dish. Kaddu Simla Mirch Sabzi is a simple sabzi where Pumpkin and Capsicum are simmered in a simple masala along with jaggery giving it a sweet and spicy taste. Serve it along with Gujarati Kadhi, Phulka. It was almost a week ago that I made this Cauliflower Sabzi and it is long gone, but looking at these pictures as I got ready to post them now got my mouth watering!
