Sandwich Dhokla is a specialty of Gujarat but now very popular all over India. There are so many types and versions of making dhoklas,they can be made with gram flour,semolina,mixed grains, lentil and rice and many more combinations. This is a favorite snack of my family so I often make different versions. Sandwich Dhokla is spicy variant of famous Gujarati snacks Dhokla.

The ingredients needed to make Sandwhich dhokla:
  1. Prepare For Dhokla batter-
  2. Prepare 2 bowls rice
  3. Get 1 bowl urad dal
  4. Prepare 6-7 methi pieces
  5. Prepare as required Water
  6. Make ready as per taste Salt
  7. Prepare as required Coriander chutney
  8. Make ready 1 bowl green coriander
  9. Make ready 1/2 bowl peanuts
  10. Prepare 1/2 bowl sev or bengal gram
  11. Take 1 Lemon juice
  12. Get As per taste Salt
  13. Make ready 1 Tbsp cumin seeds
  14. Get 1 tbsp ginger - green chilli paste
  15. Take 2 tbsp water
  16. Prepare 1 tbsp jaggery
  17. Take For Tempering-
  18. Get 2 tbsp oil
  19. Prepare 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  20. Make ready 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  21. Get 4-5 curry leaves

This recipe has featured on the show Khanakhazana. Main Ingredients : Gram Flour, Rice (चावल) Sandwich Dhokla is a combination of sausages and the conventional dhokla. Here we are also showcasing the recipe of making dhokla with plain Sooji (or Suji). You can certainly make dhokla with Gram flour (Besan) and hence the sandwich too.

Steps to make Sandwhich dhokla:
  1. For making batter: Take a big bowl wash rice, urad dal and methi seeds and soak it for 6-7 hours.
  2. After that grind it in mixture. And the batter is ready. Add salt in batter and rest it for 5-6 hours.
  3. For making coriander chutney: take a mixture add green coriander leaves, peanuts, lemon juice, cumin seeds, jaggery, salt, sev or bengal gram, green chilli and ginger paste and water and mix it well.
  4. For making dhokla : take steamer or cooker grace the plate with oil, add white batter on it and heat it with medium flame. Once the batter is convert into thick layer and check it with knife or toothpick if it is clear then our dhokla is perfectly cooked.
  5. After that for making green layer : take a bowl and add 4-5 spoon white batter and add 4-5 spoon green chutney and mix it well and make a layer on it.
  6. Once the layer is perfectly cooked then once again add white batter on it and cook it well. And check the dhokla with knife or toothpick. Once the dhokla is come into room temperature cut it in shape.
  7. For tempering: take a pan add oil, mustard seeds, sesame seeds and curry leaves and add layered dhokla in it. And mix it well. And the sandwiche dhokla is ready. Enjoy.
